This role is based in InghamAs a Community Development Coordinator (CDC), you will facilitate and implement a range of innovative capacity building employment activities such as awareness raising, information sharing, stakeholder liaison and community engagement activities which will support and assist people living with a disability to link into supported and mainstream employment and/or volunteering opportunities.The position plays a pivotal role in engaging with people living with disability, their families, carers, and broader community to increase awareness and remove barriers for people living with a disability.This position is a full time, fixed term, 6 month contract with the possibility of extension.What will I be responsible for?Develop, coordinate and implement community capacity building project plans and project management schedules related to employment and/or vocationalCoordinate and participate in a range of engagement activities including: workshops, information sessions, presentations, expos, festivals and conferencesThrough community engagement activities and stakeholder liaison, identify opportunities for community capacity building projectsPromote effective strategies to increase social inclusion for people with disability both locally and nationallyCollaborate with key regional stakeholders to establish Feros Care’s participation in reference groups or steering committees, which influence access and inclusion for people with disability within the communityAbout youSignificant proven experience working in community development rolesAn understanding of community capacity building modelsDemonstrated experience in supporting people living with disability to gain supported or mainstream opportunitiesDemonstrated project management experience and administrationExceptional interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skillsHighly developed analytical skillsExcellent verbal, communication and presentation skillsHigh level computer literacyAbility to work flexible hours, dependent on work requirementsExperience in new program development, implementation and roll outExperience and knowledge of the disability sector and NDIS legislation and Strategic DirectionsWork perks: Daily travel allowanceTechnology kits including a laptop and smart phone Salary packaging (up to $15,899 per annum) Discounted gym memberships for applicable gymsAccess to our Employee Assistance Program Ongoing training and development (face-to-face and online learning) Plus, meaningful experiences through empowering people with disability, their families and carers, and the wider community.About usWe want our team to be made up of people from all walks of life.
